January 2025 – Bold Steps Was Born
Bold Steps was founded in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, by Heather Heacox. After years of lived experience, reflection, and a deep calling, Heather stepped boldly into her vision: to create a safe, empowering path for teen moms in foster care. Bold Steps began as a promise—that no young mother should walk alone.

February 2025 – The First Big Step
We successfully completed our first crowdfunding campaign, raising the initial funds needed to launch. With these gifts, we began building the foundation for change—filing for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and laying the groundwork for mentorship, housing, and community support.

February 2025 – Website Launch
The Bold Steps website went live, becoming a home for connection, education, and inspiration. It opened the door for young mothers, volunteers, donors, and partners to find us, support us, and walk with us.

March 2025 – 501(c)(3) Filing
Our nonprofit application was officially submitted. This was more than paperwork—it was a bold declaration of our commitment to transparency, sustainability, and long-term impact.

April 26, 2025 – Our Kickoff Event
In partnership with Cobbled Streets and The Village Workspace, we hosted our first Bold Steps Kickoff Event. The evening featured a screening of Rebecoming Me, a powerful community dialogue, and the launch of our mentorship and community workshop programs. It was a night of vision, connection, and forward motion.
